Pending Approvals

What is staging? Why do I need to approve?

When you upload a rate sheet, it goes into a staging area — a holding zone where you can review it before it affects real quotes. Think of it as a draft.

What "Effective From" means

This is the date from which the new rates start applying. Quotes before that date use the old rates. Quotes on or after that date use the new rates.

Past dates are blocked. You cannot approve a rate sheet with an effective date in the past, because doing so would retroactively change historical quotes — which are permanent records.

What happens after approval
  1. Rates go live in the pricing engine immediately
  2. Old rates for the same service are automatically closed (their end date is set to the day before the new rates start)
  3. The calculator uses the new rates for all new quotes from the effective date onwards
  4. Existing orders are not changed — their price was locked at creation time
Reviewing anomalies

Rows flagged as anomalies have prices that look unusually high or low compared to surrounding rows. Review them carefully before approving — do not approve a rate sheet with unexplained anomalies.
